Health & safety links
One thing I appreciate about the UK is that it has fantastic government websites. (I assume this is largely because it isn’t fifty countries in a trenchcoat. But I digress.) This makes pulling up the full text of UK health & safety regulations much easier than I would expect, so when we were tasked with researching these statutes, that’s… exactly what I did.
Admittedly, that was back on 19 Jan, so I’m due for a refresh. Ideally I’d revisit these pieces of legislation and cross-check (I’m going to keep using this term to excess and you can’t stop me) my layman’s reading of the text against more professional interpretations, but I’m a bit crunched for time at the moment. Instead, I’m going to gather the direct links to the legislation here for later reference.
I’m also going to sort these in rough chronological order, because I find it helpful to think about how these acts build on each other.
-
The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (COSHH)
-
The Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013 (RIDDOR)
This list is currently missing fire safety regulations and data protection regulations. The legislation on these topics is much more dense, so I’ll return to those in another post.
